About

A soulful vocalist and innovative multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter and producer Rachael Sage is one of the busiest touring artists in independent music, performing 100+ dates a year both solo and with her band The Sequins throughout the US, UK, & Europe. She has earned a loyal following for her dynamic piano playing, delicate guitar work, soulful vocals, and improvisational audience interaction.

Sage has shared stages with Sarah McLachlan, Beth Hart, Judy Collins, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, Jamie Cullum, The Animals and Ani DiFranco. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and received numerous songwriting awards including The John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Grand Prize) and several Independent Music Awards. Her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO, the Fame soundtrack, and had over 20 placements on Lifetime’s controversial reality series, Dance Moms.

Sage herself is a former dancer who studied at the School of American Ballet in her teens, and she has been thrilled to see her music widely embraced by the lyrical dance community over the past several years (videos featuring young girls dancing to her music have received over 9 million hits on YouTube). Her 2016 album Choreographic delivers a musically ambitious and emotionally accessible tribute to dance, her very first love.  She “envisioned each song as a fully-choreographed multi-media experience”; the result is an inspired set of piano-based chamber-pop merging orchestral elements with her signature blend of folk, pop and rock. The album was co-produced by Sage and Grammy-winning producer Andy Zulla (Idina Menzel, Rod Stewart).

New EP to Benefit Refugee Charity - Rachael Sage @ World Café Live 4/14

New York, NY: Four-time Independent Music Award-winner and multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage will perform at World Café Live on April 14 sponsored by Ladybug Music. Soul-pop twin sisters Nalani & Sarina to open.

The NYC-based singer, songwriter and producer returns from the UK after playing sold-out shows with synth music pioneer Howard Jones in addition to having been tapped for a dozen dates in March with blues powerhouse Beth Hart for her "Fire On The Floor" tour.

Sage recently released a new EP of protest songs, The Tide, which will be available both at the performance and digitally via iTunes. The 5-track collection adds her voice to the current worldwide protests and public demonstrations. All net proceeds will be donated to ArcLife.org (American Refugee Committee), one of the world's leading international refugee assistance organizations.

Currently, Sage is playing in support of her 2016 full-length album, Choreographic. The release is a musically ambitious and emotionally accessible tribute to her very first love: dance. Sage, who studied at The School of American Ballet in her teens, has been reaching an ever-widening audience via Lifetime TV's #1 reality series Dance Moms. The show has featured an astounding 20 of her songs over the past four seasons - including many used by breakout celebrity star Maddie Ziegler (of Sia fame).

Known for her impressive musicianship, colorful stage banter and for personally connecting with her audiences, Sage has steadily built a large and loyal grassroots fan base with a rigorous international tour schedule, prompting Performing Songwriter Magazine to name her "One of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years."

Rachael is available for in-person, phone or email interviews. Any press considerations are much appreciated. If you wish to attend the show, or request a copy of Choreographic or The Tide for review, please email: press@mpressrecords.com
