Since founding her own label MPress Records two decades ago, NYC-based alt-pop artist Rachael Sage has steadily released a slew of vibrant, dynamic albums with poetic lyrics spanning subjects as wide as her inspirations. She has toured with an eclectic list of artists including Ani DiFranco, Beth Hart, Sarah McLachlan, Judy Collins and Howard Jones. Sage also continues to significantly grow her visibility via her many song placements, including 22 songs on top reality show Dance Moms, translating into over 10 million YouTube hits. Her newest offering, PseudoMyopia, is a companion acoustic album to Sage’s critically acclaimed release, Myopia. Exploring the concept of vision in all its many manifestations, she touches upon topics as varied as government surveillance, environmental protection, and female empowerment. Produced by Sage and Grammy® winner Andy Zulla, the album features guest musicians Ben Butler (Sting), bassist Richard Hammond (Joan Osborne), and cellist Ward Williams (Sara Bareilles). Sage is currently touring the US and UK in collaboration with the charity Vision Aid Overseas, which helps provide optical aid and services to developing countries in Africa.

New EP to Benefit Refugee Charity - Rachael Sage @ the Stoltz Room/Avalon Theater 5/13

New York, NY: Four-time Independent Music Award-winner and multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage will perform at the Stoltz Listening Room in the Avalon Theater on May 13. Twin musicians Nalani & Sarina to open. Sales from her new EP will be donated to the world's leading global refugee charity.

The NYC-based singer, songwriter and producer returns from the UK after playing sold-out shows with synth music pioneer Howard Jones in addition to having been tapped for a dozen dates in March with blues powerhouse Beth Hart for her "Fire On The Floor" tour.

Sage recently released a new EP of protest songs, The Tide, which will be available both at the performance and digitally via iTunes. The 5-track collection adds her voice to the current worldwide protests and demonstrations. All net proceeds will be donated to ArcLife.org (American Refugee Committee), one of the world's leading international refugee assistance organizations.

Currently, Sage is touring in support of her 2016 full-length album, Choreographic. The release is a musically ambitious and emotionally accessible tribute to her very first love: dance. Sage, who studied at The School of American Ballet in her teens, has been reaching an ever-widening audience via Lifetime TV's #1 reality series Dance Moms. The show has featured a record-breaking 20 of her songs over the past four seasons - including many used by breakout celebrity star Maddie Ziegler (of Sia fame).

Known for her impressive musicianship, colorful stage banter and for personally connecting with her audiences, Sage has steadily built a large and loyal grassroots fan base with a rigorous international tour schedule, prompting Performing Songwriter Magazine to name her "One of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years."

Rachael is available for in-person, phone or email interviews. Any press considerations are much appreciated. If you wish to attend the show, or request a copy of Choreographic or The Tide for review, please email: press@mpressrecords.com

"Her keen, ironic sense of humor and quirky sense of the profound is what makes her special as a songwriter"

"The Carole King of her generation....Sage is easily the match for any master, either past or present."

ABOUT RACHAEL SAGE: With 9.5 million YouTube views and 12 full-length albums, Rachael Sage is one of the busiest touring artists in independent music, performing 100+ dates a year both solo and with her band, The Sequins. She's received numerous songwriting awards including The John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Grand Prize) and several Independent Music Awards.
